Question 6: What are your top three pieces of advice for new skaters?
- Don’t be too hard on yourself if you can’t master a new skill after just a few tries. Remember, every great skater you see started right where you are. Progress takes time, so be patient and keep practicing.
- One of the amazing aspects of skating is its ability to shut your brain off and allow you to focus solely on the joy of skating. It’s a fantastic stress-reliever and can turn even the toughest days around. Embrace the freedom and let the wheels take you on a journey of pure bliss.
- Whether you’re contemplating joining roller derby or simply want to learn how to skate for fun or exercise, the support and camaraderie within the skating community are unparalleled. Lifelong friendships are forged through shared experiences on wheels, and I wholeheartedly recommend diving into the world of skating. It’s not just a sport; it’s a community that uplifts and empowers.
