What is the backstory on your Derby Name?
Since my name is Amber and is a Gem, I came up with Slim Gem, haha it rhymes!
Why did you start reffing roller derby?
I started reffing after I had a torn meniscus repair from a roller derby injury. I chose to stick with roller derby by reffing with less chance of injury.
Over the years I have become more confident and precise with calls and can always learn more on rules. I have learned to control the urge to throat punch people with attitudes….lol. Patience is truly a virtue while reffing all sports.
