What is the backstory on your Derby Name?
Picking a name is such a big decision. I have always known the term Cracker Jack to mean someone who’s quick to get a good job done…. I always try to do my best at every challenge I take on….

What are you doing when your are not skating?
When I’m not skating…I’m a Principal of a middle school (5th and 6th grade). I also have recently taken up quilting and have started working on photography. I LOVE going to movies and spending time with my family.

Why did you start refereeing roller derby?
A few years back, I went to a bank track bout to watch Triple X. I was hooked, but never had the courage to try. After recovering from breast cancer, I decided that waiting didn’t make sense. I started boot camp with the intent to make a team. Unfortunately, when I started parts of the skating were just too hard on my recovering body. So I started refereeing. I have grown to really enjoy understanding the game and helping others improve themselves through my current role. While a part of me wishes I could make a team, some new physical limitations are going to make that difficult. So I’ll be happy to help in this capacity!

One thing you wish you new before you started skating!
The only thing I wish I had known before I started was how much my gear smells after skating for a couple of hours!!
