My derby name is FirecrackHer and my # is 2319 inspired by monsters Inc

WHAT IS THE BACKSTORY ON YOUR DERBY NAME?
This backstory of my derby name really, me and my mom were trying to brainstorm names and stuff. I didn’t really wanna tie anything to go with my name. I just wanted it out there and kind of simple. So we chose firecracker but instead of the normal way it’s spelt we added ‘Her’ into it! When I’m not at Derby, I normally go rollerskating with my friends. Or I spend my time playing the guitar, and spending time with family.

WHEN & WHY DID YOU START DERBY?
I started roller Derby with southside in June 2019.

For my ninth birthday I had got a pair of rollerskates and I fell in love with skating. My grandmother was taking me every single Saturday that I could possibly get and that made me so in love with the skating community and stuff, I was really wanting to get involved more by doing a sport. And I chose roller derby because it caught my eye the most!


ADVICE TO NEW SKATERS or SKATERS SITTING ON THE FENCE.
My advice for skaters, who are wanting to learn how to skate or is on the fence about it, DO IT!! Rollerskating is such a great community, you meet so many new people, and you make so many great long, loving friends along with it. I have learned not only how to skate, but life lessons, and just how to handle things by experiences, I love roller derby much it has helped me grown so much, not only as a skater, but as a person.
